Motivation for Weight Loss

Motivation is positively the key element in your efforts at Weight-Loss. So let's talk, just between us, about where you are, and what we can do to get you where you want to go. This is probably going to hurt a little, but let's get it out of the way immediately. How much do you weigh? What size shirt, blouse, pants or dress do you wear? How does this compare to last year? Do you not wear belts anymore because you keep outgrowing them? Are those heels you love too tight now because your feet are "swollen"?

How is your heart, physically? (Incidentally, how is your heart emotionally? We often forget that part of emotional health is related to our physical health and fitness-but you knew that, right?) And besides, what better motivation is there than looking good to someone we're attracted to?

What do you see when you look in the mirror? Do you smile the way Jim Belushi does on TV when he looks at himself? No matter how you feel or feel you look right now, remember that you are a unique human being, one in a billion, a true miracle of the universe, a wonder to behold. Perfect? Well, perhaps we overweight people are more just temporarily flawed, diamonds in the rough, just needing a little polishing!

While we're on the subject, one of the things that motivates me is travel. I love to go visit new places, eat food from different places, and meet new people. A great way to motivate yourself is to plan a trip when you've reached a certain goal. Here's a site and place I highly recommend;

Let's talk about your physical health, specifically. Do you have diabetes? Are you on blood thinners? Is your blood pressure high? What other weight loss conditions are you suffering from? Do you believe that these conditions are a result of your weight, at least to some degree? When I was over 200 pounds, just a few years ago, I would often remember how thin I was in college, and when I got married, wondering if I would ever look that good again. (I'm not there, yet, but we're going there together, right?) I remembered how good I felt about myself, and how responsive the opposite sex was back then. My, how things have changed! The pages on the left hand side of this Web site are designed to give you a bunch of different ways to achieve the body of your dreams, or at least of your memories.

The one thing we all do everyday is eat. Most of us love to eat, and I would never dream of denying that I LOVE FOOD! But, know this- there are lots of great diets out there that allow you to eat a good, healthy meal, and lose weight while you're at it! So, as they come online, click on the new pages, check out some of the healthy living recipes and meals, and let me know how you like them. One of the popular ones right now is the Mediterranean Diet. I am a firm believer that whole food is an integral part of any diet, and in fact, that it is it's own rapid weight loss diet. If you use healthy, whole foods, cook them carefully, using steam, low heat, natural toppings, and fresh spices and vegetables, you will lose weight. There will be several pages of whole food recipes, as well.
